In a victory with the DOT over Fayetteville, NC, Goldsboro has won the right to be the connector for the "new" old passenger rail system for eastern north carolina. This connector will link up from Wilmington to stations in Raleigh, NC. A north/south connector is planned from Wilmington to Richmond,Va. This is just the beginning stages as the DOT has just purchased the historic Union Station in Goldsboro for renovation. This is exciting news for Goldsboro and one more reason that Goldsboro will continue to grow and thrive.
